Puzzle Ball Lamp (2023)

Motivation:

This was supposed to be a test piece for a lampshade for the MIG welded lamp, but it ended up a little too small (and the lamp wasn’t quite the right shape for it anyways), so instead I put an LED strand inside it.

Description:

The pieces are cut from PETG. The files I used were here: https://www.epiloglaser.com/resources/sample-club/iqlamp.htm. I resized them because the ones on the website are huge.

Lessons Learned:

PETG smells really bad in the laser and its hard not to burn the edges. PETG is also slightly too stiff. I’m planning on trying this again with shoji paper and then trying to laminate it.
