Description:

I was awarded a $1000 grant to run a week long class on how to make metal and glass lamps from the Morningside Design Fellowship & office of Experiential Learning. Through Metropolis, the Makerspace I mentor in, I created and ran a week long class on how to make a CNC plasma lamp. The class covered the CNC plasma cutter, spot welder, sanding tools, and glass cutting tools. Around 230 people were interested in the class, but I only had the space, time, and resources to take 8 students. The goal of the class was to run a project class from start to finish to help give beginners a jump start on how to build these projects. A guide for the project can be found here.
