Laser Etched Pumpkin (2022)

Finished pumpkin

Thank you to my friend who put their phone in pumpkin guts for this picture!

Motivation:

Who wouldn’t want a fancy pumpkin

Description:

Used 120W epilogue fusion M2 with 2” lens at 55% speed, 100% power, 600dpi with 3 passes. Settings taken from here: https://www.epiloglaser.com/resources/sample-club/engraving-pumpkins.htm

Lessons Learned:

Pumpkin smells bad when it is burned. Don’t use nonsymetric items on the laser rotary or they fall off axis and get messed up. The curvature of a pumpkin doesn’t make a huge difference on how well the laser cutter creates an image.
